TAQA Theater de Vest
With around 350 professional and amateur performances per year, TAQA Theater De Vest is the cultural heart of Alkmaar and its surroundings. With a passion for performing arts, the organization aims to enrich the lives of everyone in the Alkmaar region by offering art, culture, and experiences. TAQA Theater De Vest is more than just a theater – the spaces are also available for conferences, parties, and events. Each year, more than 300,000 guests visit the theater for one of its many events.
Vrij Zijn
Since 2011, the A.F. Vrij Zijn foundation has grown into a volunteer organization with more than 100 volunteers. Part of the foundation is the Vrij Zijn Theater. Since 2012, the theater has staged three productions per year at its own location in Alkmaar, presenting the history of Alkmaar in a modern and exciting way.
HAL25
HAL25 is a cultural hub with industrial design, fragrant green gardens, and a cozy, homely atmosphere, right in the heart of Alkmaar!
The venue often hosts theater performances. Currently, the schedule is filled with Peep Performances and Peeshows – definitely worth a visit!
De Alkenaer
De Alkenaer is a well-known name in Alkmaar and the surrounding area. Since the 1980s, book and culture lovers have found their way to this characteristic bookstore, which also offers many LPs, located at Ritsevoort 36. In February 2023, the Stichting Cultuurpodium De Alkenaer was founded by Vincent van de Vrede, Bert de Raaf, and Maartje van Meijel.
