Are you coming to Alkmaar by car? In Alkmaar it's always easy to find parking space. Alkmaar has around eight public parking garages in and around the city centre. Digital signs indicate the route to the nearest car park.

Other parking facilities in Alkmaar
- Carpark Parcade Overstad. Five minute walk from Alkmaar town centre. Price: € 0.65 per hour or the whole day for € 3.20. Parking spaces available for camper vans.
- Parking garage beneath the Noorderarcade shopping centre. A private garage with different rates.
P+R sites: free parking in Alkmaar
Free parking available at the P+R-sites below. Take the Connexxion bus to Kanaalkade in Alkmaar centre:
- P&R Ter Keesomstraat in Oudorp, side street Edisonweg.
- P&R Terrain Bergermeer on Robonsbosweg (next to Alkmaar campsite).
For paying quickly, safely and easily, use 'mobile parking'. Really clever because with mobile parking you only pay for the time you parked.
Public transport
To Alkmaar by public transport
To Alkmaar by train? From Amsterdam it's only 35 minutes by train, with 5 trains departing every hour. The railway station is about a 5-minute walk from the town centre.
To Alkmaar by bus
There are buses from many villages and cities in Noord-Holland and Friesland that go to the Alkmaar bus station, which is next to Alkmaar Central Station. City buses stop at various points in and around the centre, including the Kanaalkade and the Laat.
By bike?
Alkmaar is a bicycle-friendly city. Park your bicycle in one of the secured bicycle shelters:
